IWUF announces annual World Kung Fu Wushu Day

The International Wushu Federation (IWUF) has announced that they have officially created a World Wushu Kung Fu Day for all wushu and kung fu practitioners to celebrate.

WWKD will be held annually on the first Saturday after August 8th of each year, with the first celebration being held this year on Saturday 11th August 2018.

The theme for this year’s WWKD is ‘Kung Fu in Everyday Life’ and is open to anyone and everyone to participate in any way they see fit.

IWUF will be looking for entries to post on their website www.iwuf.org and all submissions are to be sent to media@iwuf.org

Welcome to the new look KUNG FU WUSHU AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY website.

Kung Fu Wushu Australian Capital Territory Limited (KWACT) is the officially recognized governing body for Chinese martial arts (kung fu, wushu, tai chi) in ACT. KWACT is the State member organization of Kung Fu Wushu Australia Limited which is the national organisation recognized by the Australia Sports Commission, The International Wushu Federation and the Martial Arts Industry Association.

KWACT has established in 1988 and operated as an unincorporated association and sub branch of the national body until 2012 at which time it incorporated as a public company limited by guarantee.

KWACT has conducted many accreditation courses and coaching clinics as well as providing officials to both national and international competitions.

14th World Wushu Championships in Kazan, Russia

Later this month the 14th World Wushu Championships will be staged in Kazan Russia. Australia will be sending a full team of athletes and coaches and is hopeful of improving on its great results in 2015 in Indonesia.

Walt Missingham confirmed as Vice Chairman IWUF Marketing & Development Committee

KWA President has been confirmed as the Vice Chairman IWUF Marketing &
Development Committee. Walt commented “the marketing of our sport has
evolved over the years and I am very pleased that my contributions have made
some positive difference. Changing the name of the World Traditional Wushu
Championships to the World Kung Fu Championships was a great step forward in
our global brand recognition and the recent establishment of worldwushu.tv
has been a tremendously successful initiative. Our sport now has a global
inertia that will only get better”.

14th World Wushu Championships Confirmed For Kazan City, Russia

The 14th World Wushu Championships (WWC) will take place from September 27th to October 3rd in Kazan City, Russia.

IWUF has also announced that an event website featuring the Championships is under construction and shall be launched soon. Please stay tuned!
